The fifth stage of the EA7 Emporio Armani Sportour will be held in Sestriere, in the Piedmont, one of the top destinations for winter tourism, from 22 to 24 February. The sports event organised by RCS Sports & Events in collaboration with La Gazzetta dello Sport and Radio 105, the official radio for the tour, will be held at one of the biggest ski areas in Europe, the Via Lattea.
Snow enthusiasts will be able to participate in numerous activities within the same area that served as the special setting for the Alpine skiing competitions in the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.
The Village, the central hub for the event as well as the place to book activities and obtain information, will be located at the Kandahar Parterre and will be open starting Friday afternoon.
Anticipation is high for WeGlow, a collective night-time descent that will be held Saturday evening on the Kandahar ski run, which was the first location to host a night-time World Cup competition, in 1994.
As with the previous stages, other activities on the programme include ski style preskige, a training session for perfecting skiing technique with assessment of expertise on skis; snowshoe walk; snowbike, the new frontier for cycling enthusiasts who are eager to pedal on the snow using fat bikes; giro di pista a giant descent with 21 gates, all inspired by the stages of the upcoming 2019 Giro d’Italia.
EA7 Emporio Armani will provide a selection of jackets from the 2018/19 autumn winter collection, giving the skiers a chance to appreciate their style and technology as they test them on the slopes.
Radio 105 – the radio partner for the whole tour – will be present both at the Village and at high altitude, with a music area located at the point of arrival. At every stage, the staff of the radio station will engage those present with various entertaining and promotional activities: Bryan Ronzani and Valeria Oliveri will accompany the day’s events.
Participants will have a chance to conduct a ski test with quality material provided by Völkl.
